The University of Pikeville鈥檚 Coleman College of Business (CCOB) will kick off the spring semester鈥檚 Speaker and Leadership Series on Friday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. in Booth Auditorium. Jared Arnett will serve as the featured guest speaker with his presentation, 鈥淒oing things that have never been done.鈥
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Arnett has a heart for the people of the region and the businesses of Eastern Kentucky. He has been in ministry for more than ten years and is the lead pastor at New Beginnings Church in Pikeville. Arnett came into ministry from the marketplace while working full-time as the founding executive director of Shaping Our Appalachian Region, Inc. (SOAR), where he believes God allowed him to put his faith into action by helping the disadvantaged population of Appalachia, Kentucky. He earned his MBA and acquired several certificates in economic development. Arnett is an entrepreneur, co-founder, and partner of Mountain Music Exchange, where he has an outlet to share his love of music with the community. He also currently serves as an adjunct instructor of entrepreneurship at CCOB.
The campus and the community are cordially invited to attend the February 16 event. For more information, contact Brenda Maynard, associate professor of business, at (606) 218-5010 or bmaynard@upike.edu.
