The College of Nursing and Human Services is home to both the Elliott School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Sharing many commonalities, both areas of study have missions driven for social change in a very physical discipline with extensive field work. Both career paths continue to strengthen the quality of life for the communities in which graduates serve.

In addition to offering an associate degree in nursing (A.D.N.), an online national accredited RN-BSN program the College of Nursing and Human Services also offers a degree in social work and an online master’s degree in the fall of 2020.

Elliott School of Nursing

The Elliott School of Nursing has been in operation since 1983 and since then has graduated more than 750 students who have gone on to nursing careers in a variety of settings.

The University of Pikeville Elliott School of Nursing offers a two-year program associate degree in nursing (A.D.N.) program and an online nationally accredited RN-BSN program. This program is for RNs only and has separate admission criteria and curriculum.. The A.D.N. program also permits a licensed practical nurse to earn their A.D.N. in two semesters/one year, once admitted to the LPN-to-RN program of study. The A.D.N. program has full approval status from the Kentucky Board of Nursing.

School of Social Work

With a strong foundation at 蝴蝶直播, the School of Social Work allows students to learn professional values, ethics and evidence-based techniques to make the world a more fair and caring place.

The School of Social Work offers an undergraduate degree in social work as well as a 12-month online master’s degree with specialization in mental health and addictions. Funded by a competitive Opioid Workforce Expansion Program grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration, the new masters program will assist the program in recruiting and training new highly-skilled social work professionals to improve behavioral health workforce in Central Appalachia.
